On Wednesday, July 6, the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce presented Clanton, Malphus, Hodges Veterinary Hospital & Pet Motel (CMH) with the July 2016 Business of the Month award.

The CMH practice itself has been around since the 1920s. In the 1940s, Dr. Roland Clanton bought the practice and named it “Clanton Veterinary Hospital”, moving it from downtown Thomasville to Moultrie Road and later building a facility on the corner of Jackson and Clanton Streets.

In 1970, Dr. Jimmy Clanton joined the practice and built the current facility located on Pinetree Blvd. In 1994, Dr. Beckey Malphus joined the practice (becoming part owner in 1998) and Dr. Dale Hodges joined in 1998 (becoming part owner in 2003).

“The practice has been accredited with the American Animal Hospital Association since 1992, which holds veterinary hospitals to the highest standards. Our success can be attributed to our hard working, compassionate team and our mission to provide excellent patient care and customer service,” Dr. Beckey Malphus DVM.

With the Business of the Month award, CMH will receive a banner to display in the office for the month of July.

In addition to the banner, they will also receive a digital billboard announcing them as Business of the Month with social media posts and promotion through various media outlets.

Each month, the chamber will recognize a Business of the Month, an honor that will be randomly presented to a member in good standing with at least one full year of chamber membership.

The chamber’s hopes for this program is to recognize its members and help promote positive business in the community.

“It has been a privilege to serve this community over the years. Each day is unique and we truly enjoy working with all the animals and people who love them. We have benefited greatly from being a member of the Chamber as they are a great support to small business owners and help us to stay engaged in the community,” commented Malphus.
