Flowers issues additional recall

THOMASVILLE — Flowers Foods has added a second baked product to their voluntary recall issued on October 31.

In a November 3 amended press release, Flowers announced that certain Krimpets products would be added to the original recall on TastyKake Multi-Pack Cupcakes due to “potential presence of tiny fragments of metal mesh wire”.

An additional report of contaminated ingredients from a vendor prompted the second recall.

No injuries or incidents have still not been reported, Flowers said.

Along with the original list, Customers are urged not to eat TastyKake Butterscotch Krimpets, TastyKake Butterscotch club packs, TastyKake Butterscotch Krimpets 3 count, TastyKake Crème Filled Krimpets, TastyKake Jelly Filled Krimpets and tastyKake Jelly Filled Krimpets 3 count dated to enjoy between November 20 to December 8.

Anyone who finds a contaminated product is advised to throw it away or request a full refund from the store of purchase.
