Amber Nicole Diggs

On August 1, 1998, Heneretta Freeman and Travis Diggs gave birth to  a beautiful baby girl named Amber Nicole Diggs. She leaves loving memories of her mama, Heneretta (Garret Wimberly) her father Travis Diggs, two siblings, Mersades, Monika, and one brother Daniel, all of Meigs, Georgia. Grandparents Gloria (Elven) Williams and Charlie Freeman of Meigs, Georgia. Grandmother, Annette McMillian and the late Jimmy Diggs, two aunts, Shalonda Freeman of Ochlocknee, Ga. and Linda Freeman of Meigs. One uncle, Charlie Freeman, Jr. of Meigs, Ga. Two nephews, Ja’Marcus Johnson, Anthony Roberts and one niece Ah’Zilah Roberts of Meigs, Ga. A host of great-aunts, and uncles. Her uncle Jimmy (Risha) Diggs of Thomasville, Ga. Godmothers, Lisa Smart of Meigs, Ga. and Alicia Ivey and godparents, Sabrina Young and Terrell Young of Thomasville, Ga. Godsisters, Brandy Copeland and Destiny Ivey; and her best friends Shaquandra McIntire, Theajaha Hill and Myeshia Luster. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Kairos Worship Center, 1017 Alligood Street, Meigs, Ga. The Rev. Willie McNeil, pastor, the Rev. Addie Walker, officiating. Burial will follow in the Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 4077 E. Crawford Street Apt. Terrence P. Frazier

Services for Terrence P. Frazier, 71, of Erie, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Lebanon, Pennsylvania and of the South, living many years in Thomasville, Georgia are a 2 p.m., Saturday February 20, 2016 at John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory Hermitage, Pennsylvania, with the Rev. C. Charles Eckles, pastor of IHS Ministries, Hermitage, officiating. Interment is in St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage with honor guard service provided by Wheatland American Legion Post 432 and West Middlesex Post 6233 and Farrell Post 5286 of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Frazier died unexpectedly Monday, February 15, 2016 at his residence. Born June 29, 1944, Lebanon, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Mildred Jane Bohn Frazier and Arthur F. Frazier. A graduate of Lebanon High School, Terrence was a Senior Systems Analyst at Cleaver Brooks Inc., based out of Thomasville, Georgia where he has been an employee since he was discharged from the United States Air Force. He and his wife owned and operated a restaurant “Frazier’s Grill” for many years in Thomasville, Georgia. Terrence collected stamps and enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret (Peggy) Phillips, whom he married on July 9, 1998, survives at home; two daughters, Amy Wirta (Whitney) of Sterling, Connecticut; Ashley Smith (Kenneth) of Atlanta; four sons, David Frazier (Sue) of Warren, Michigan, Chris Frazier, of Pompano Beach, Florida; Will Friday (Nina Wroblewski) and Christopher Friday (Melanie), all of Erie, Pennsylvania; and nine grandchildren, Jessica, Nathan, Josh, Zachary, Lily, Addy, Carter, Isabella and Maximus. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Art, Tim and Gary Frazier. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today and Saturday from noon to the time of services in the John Flynn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2630 E. State St., Hermitage. Janice Denise Grace

Graveside services for Janice Denise Grace, 33, of Cairo, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016,  The Rev. Dr. Debra Knight, pastor, Pastor Carl Miller, officiating, and interment is in Crestview Cemetery. Mrs. Grace died Feb. 10 at Archbold Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mary Grace and Theodore Garland. She attended Grady County Schools. Jerry Metcalf

Services for Jerry Metcalf are at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Disiciples of Jesus Ministries, 228 Augusta Ave. The Rev. Denny Blake pastor and the Rev. Artis Johnson officiating and interment is in Walden Cemetery in Beachton, Ga. Mr. Metcalf  was born on June 26, 1951 in Beachton, Georgia to the late Artie and Martha Metcalf. He was the youngest son of eight siblings. He graduated from the Washington Consolidated High School in 1969 and then went on to obtain a Certificate in Auto Mechanics from the Walton Technical School. At an early age, Jerry gave his life to the Lord and became a member of the Evergreen Congregational United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Elder Board, Trustee Board, Church Council, Choir, and Gala Day Food Committee. Jerry was the founder of the Evergreen Male Ensemble. The Evergreen Male Ensemble performed on numerous occasions induding special events at Callaway Gardens, Susina Plantation and Pebble Hill Plantation. They were also invited to perform in New York City. Jerry’s love of music and song earned him fame as a walking and singing concert. His baritone timbre resonated the walls of many churches. His favorite scripture and song are found in Isaiah 40:31 …. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk:, and not faint.” Jerry began his work ethic at the tender age of eleven. As an adult, he toiled at Pebble Hill Plantation for the late Pansy and Parker Poe. Subsequently, he became the manager of Mayhaw Plantation owned by Parker Poe and later acquired by Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Crozer. Jeny was a member of the GA-FL Shooting Dog Handler’s Club. He had a great love of the outdoors and spent much of his time working with animals. His beloved best friend, Drift, an English Bulldog, preceded him in death. After his 2009 retirement, Jeny enoyed fishing, spending time with his buddies, and watching his favorite westerns (Cheyenne, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Death Valley Days). He could be found most afternoons alongside Dorman and Jim. They were affectionately known as “The Three Amigos.” He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 40 years, Betty D. Metcalf; four chlldren, Timothy Bryant (Sherante) of Ellenwood, Georgia, Jeny “Toe” Metcalf Jr. of Thomasville, Georgia, Maria Johnson (Rickey) of Pavo, Georgia, Bryan Metcalf (Chantell) of Thomasville, Georgia, and Mona Hayes of Thomasville, Georgia. Grandchildren include: Logan Metcalf, Jaybian Williams, Brandon Christopher, Desmond Stephenson, Tarnia Johnson, Bryce Metcalf, Amaya Johnson, and Hannah Hayes; adopted grandchildren include DeCourtney Walden, Dominique Walden, Jomiah Turner, Kuenya Onyegbula, and Alyra Williams. Eula Mae Wilkins Peoples

Services for Eula Mae Wilkins Peoples, 61, of Thomasville, are at 3 p.m., Feb. 20, 2016, at Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor William Brinson will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Thomasville. Mrs. Peoples died Feb. 14 at Archbold Hospital. Born July 13, 1954, in Leon County, Florida, she was the daughter of stepfather, Leroy McCoy and parents, the late Leslie (Wilkins) McCoy and Willie Lee Forbes of Thomasville. She was employed by Wade Chastain Nursery and attended the Thomas County School System. Survivors include daughter, Theresa (Kenneth) Coston of Thomasville; grandson, Marquis Wilkins of Thomasville; granddaughter, Katrissisa Holland of Thomasville; grandson, J.B. Services for Joyce Sinni Anita Wooten, 55, of Ellenwood, Georgia, are at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Bethlehem AME Church in Cairo. The Rev. Pallbearers are Nicholas Gosier, Deonte Clayton, Ronnie Wooten Sr., Mark Wooten Sr., Ronnie Wooten Jr., Kevin Stephens, Gary Carter and Christopher Ross. Mrs. Wooten died Feb. 15 at her residence. Born in Cairo, she was the daughter of the late Geraldine and Nehemiah Sr. She was a 1978 graduate of Cairo High School and a member  of Christian Life Center in Atlanta. Gene Prance

Gene Prance, 82, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was born March 20, 1933 in Bainbridge, a son of the late Willie Prance, Sr. and Rosetta Miller.  Mr. Prance honorably served in the U.S. Army, and for many years was a Flooring Installer in the Thomasville area.  He loved fishing and spending time with his granddaughters and his special friend Miss Flo Guess. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Grace and Reggie Davis of Valdosta; two granddaughters, Emily Hogan and Baylie Davis; a half-sister, Becky Morey and husband Donald of Hahira; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Kleiser Prance; a brother, Willie Prance, Jr.; three sisters, Violet Poirot, Laverne Prance, and Pearl Prance; and a half-brother, Ike Mote. Ollie Mae Colston Pickett

Ollie Mae Colston Pickett was reunited with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 15, 2016. She was born on Jan. 24, 1936, in the Glasgow Community of Thomas County to the late Arrie Chester and Maddie Colston. She was the third child in a family of six siblings, Ernest Colston (Estella), Mattie Colston, and the late Bernice McKinney, Willie Colston and Johnny Colston Sr. Ollie Mae and Curtis (Bubba) Pickett were joined in holy matrimony. From this union, six beautiful children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis, and two of her children, Karen Orneice Pickett and Dallas Lane Pickett. She leaves to cherish fond memories four children, Barbara Pickett Smith (Elwin), of Augusta, Gary Louis Pickett, J.D. (Susan), of West Palm Beach, Florida; Dr. Belinda Pickett Edwards (Samuel), of Kennesaw, and Harold Dale Pickett (Angelia), of Demorest; 11 grandchildren, Elwin Kirk Smith, Jr. (LaTasha), Kimberly A. Smith, Chaundriessa Smith; Brandon D. Pickett, Marcus Pickett, Rachel Pickett; Daniel Pickett (Jessica); Karen Edwards, Nolan Edwards; Joshua Pickett, and Kaylin Pickett; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
