THOMASVILLE- Harper Elementary School is proud to announce Kameon Hadley as its 2025–2026 Teacher of the Year, honoring her 17 years of dedication to early childhood education and her deep commitment to creating a nurturing and empowering classroom environment.

Hadley has spent her entire teaching career at Harper Elementary, where she currently teaches Kindergarten. A Thomasville native, she brings a unique connection to the school and community, building strong relationships with students and families through shared experiences and a heart for service.

“Giving back has always been a core value in my life,” said Hadley. “My heart was especially drawn to early childhood education because of the joy, energy, and authenticity that young children bring. I want my students to know that I am always in their corner.”

Her “why” as an educator comes from a desire to be the kind of teacher who makes every student feel seen, supported, and celebrated. She strives daily to create a warm, welcoming, and family-oriented classroom that encourages both academic growth and emotional connection.

“The growth that students demonstrate over a nine-month period is so rewarding,” she shared. “I also love that I have a supportive paraprofessional who shares my goals and expectations. Seeing our students excel and get excited about learning is the ultimate goal.”

Among her most memorable teaching moments was watching the students from her very first Kindergarten class graduate as the Class of 2022, a full-circle experience that reminded her of the long-lasting impact educators can have.

“To see so many of those students reach such an important milestone, and to know I helped lay the foundation—that was truly heartwarming.”

Hadley also values staying connected with former students as they grow, especially when they visit years later.

Being chosen as Teacher of the Year by her peers is a meaningful recognition of her passion and impact.

“It means so much to be recognized by my fellow colleagues for doing what I’m truly passionate about,” she said. “This honor reminds me that the love, effort, and dedication I pour into my students is making a difference.”

Thomasville City Schools proudly congratulates Hadley for her well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her lasting impact on generations of Harper Eagles.
