THOMASVILLE — A disabled man housed at a Thomasville medical care facility was quick to report an incident involving another person at the facility.

The 44-year-old male victim told Thomas County Sheriff’s Office investigators someone forced him to do something against his will.

The offense is a sex act, said Capt. Tim Watkins, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office chief investigator.

The victim was “very quickly” exploited by the suspect, said Kevin Dennis, sheriff’s office sex crime investigator.

Madison Rudolph Murray, 55, is charged with exploitation of a disabled person.

He is being held at the Thomas County Jail in lieu of a $1,100 bond.

Watkins said anyone in a situation like the victim should report it at once.

Some people will seek out physically- and mentally-disadvantaged people, Dennis said.

“They’re predators … A predator is a predator,” Watkins said. “There’s no doubt about that.”
