For nearly 20 years, CNS has brought the annual Fireworks and Festivities celebration to the community as a way to express thanks for the community’s support and loyalty. During Thomasville’s early July 4th events, the celebration consisted of only a fireworks show, which was funded and managed by the City of Thomasville’s Recreation Department. When the Recreation Department’s responsibilities were transitioned to the YMCA in 1999, CNS saw this as a great opportunity to enhance the event and use it as a way to give back to the community who had so fully supported their young company.
“We believe that community celebrations, such as the Fireworks and Festivities, are one of the best ways we can express our gratitude to those that choose CNS for their Internet, telephone and digital television service,” said Marketing Director Sheryl Sealy. “That’s why we are proud to invest in our community’s events like the Independence Day celebration, which provides an opportunity for our community to enjoy a fun-filled holiday with their friends and family.”
CNS’s annual tradition has something for everyone, including live music. Kids can enjoy a variety of free activities, including face painting, arts and crafts led by Pottery Frenzy and You’re Maker, and Smallcakes cupcake decorating. Local veterans groups and a variety of favorite food vendors will be on-site serving up delicious eats and treats. The Kings Voices a cappella group will perform a special rendition of the National Anthem right before the highlight of the event — the large fireworks display which will begin at 9:30 p.m.
The City of Thomasville would like to thank Archbold’s Live Better Program for providing free bottles of water (while supplies last) and Trinity Anglican Church for partnering with the city to provide free treats, games, and cooling-off stations for guests of the event.
“Our goal is to provide a fun, family event that everyone, from all age groups, can enjoy,” said Sealy. “CNS is very proud to bring this event to our community each year.”
