Members of the John B. Gordon Chapter 383 United Daughters of the Confederacy enjoyed fun, food and fellowship during the December meeting held at the Thomas County Public Library.
Chapter President Mary Margaret Quiggle presented a program about toys that children played with during the War Between the States. Then Christmas music was turned on and the UDC members strolled around the tables that were set up with beautiful and useful gifts to purchase for themselves or others. Many of the items included plants, flowers, jewelry, table displays for Christmas, homemade food products such as breads, jellies, jams pies, cakes, and door wreaths.

A reception table was set up decorated for Christmas for members to pause and get some refreshments during their shopping spree. Hostesses were: Dianne Ponder, Margie Barden, Deb Phillips, Anita Ward and Sheila Tucker. Money made during the Christmas Bazaar will be used to help purchase Military Service Awards that will be presented at the chapter’s Confederate Memorial Day Observance in April. Also, some of the money will be used to purchase a set of large flags to be used by the chapter.
