THOMASVILLE — The Thomasville district attorney’s office wants to spread a little Christmas Cheer.

District Attorney J. David Miller and office staff are sponsoring a Christmas Gift Card Drive to benefit child victims ages 13-17, who are in foster care and need a little holiday magic in their troubled lives.

Many of the children have been removed from abusive homes as a result of neglect, physical and/or sexual abuse, or witnessed acts of domestic violence.

“The holidays provide us all with a chance to turn away from our own needs and consider the needs of others, especially children,” said Gwen Tyler, victim advocate.

As the holiday approaches, district attorney’s office staff requests that these children be remembered.

The staff requests gift cards in denominations of $20 so the cards can be evenly distributed among the children.

The deadline for the Gift Card Drive is Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 5 p.m.

Gift cards may be mailed to District Attorney’s Office, P.O. Box 2596, Thomasville, Georgia 31799, or taken to the district attorney’s office, 325 N. Madison St., Thomas County Judicial Center.
