Banquet

The members of First Missionary Baptist Church are holding their annual Mother-Daughter/Father-Son Banquet at 6:30 p.m., on Saturday. The speaker is Tallahassee, Fla., resident LaRhonda Larkins.

She is the Interim Executive Director for the Thomasville Community Resource Center (TCRC).  Since joining TCRC in June of 2012, her efforts have focused on increasing enrichment opportunities for the underprivileged, implementing education, health and wellness initiatives for families.

She previously held a public relations and alumni affairs position in the Department of Arts and Sciences at Florida A & M University. She received her bachelor of arts in sociology at Bethune Cookman University and a master of community and administrative based social work from Florida A&M University.

Larkins is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, National Association of Social Workers, National Sociology Association and the Community Service Partnership Grant Review Committee.

VBS

Mercy Seat Christian, Ochlocknee and Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Churches are holding their annual Vacation Bible School at 6:30 p.m., Monday through June 21 at Piney Grove, 677 Hwy. 319 South. The Bible sessions are open to all ages.

Men’s conference
