Otho M. Sadler

Services for Otho M. Sadler, 87, Havana, Fla., are at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003 at Calvary Baptist Church in Calvary. The Rev. Chris Hammock will officiate and interment is in Piedmont Cemetery in Calvary. Active pallbearers re Tommy Sadler, Roger Sadler, Tapp Weaver, Doug Lacy, Roy Braswell and Robert Sadler. Mr. Sadler died Sunday, Oct. 26 in Tallahassee, Fla. Born Jan. 16, 1916 in Grady County, Ga., he was a son of the late Emmett and Emma Jones Sadler. He was married to Marjorie Edith Tryon Sadler who preceded him in death on July 24, 1983. He served in the U.S. Army, member Calvary Baptist Church and was a self-employed farmer and welder for Monsanto Chemical Co. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Catherine Hawthorne of Calvary, Carol Braswell of Havana, Fla., Linda and Doug Lacy of Whigham, Olivia (Libby) and Vern Lieb of Apple Valley, Calif., Betty and Tapp Weaver of Calvary; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Nancy Sadler of Quincy, Fla., Roger and Lee Sadler of Calvary; a brother, Olen Sadler of Havana, Fla.; sisters, Mallie Dalton of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Opal Lee of Reno; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife; and a sister, Ernestine Bloodworth. Lola LeGette Tyson

Graveside services for Lola LeGette Tyson, 77, Cairo, are at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003 at Cairo Cemetery in Cairo. The Rev. Richard Soper will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are Bob LeGette, Ken LeGette, Dennis Hester, Ryan Stepler, Jeff Krizner, Victor Guerrero and Tommy Curtis. Mrs. Tyson died Sunday, Oct. 26 in Cairo. Born June 20, 1926 in Cairo, she was the daughter of the late Howard Thaddeus and Margaret Kennedy LeGette. She was married to William Max Tyson who preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1993. A lifetime resident of Cairo, she was a member of First United Methodist Church and a retired homemaker. She attended Virginia Intermont College, Wesleyan College and the University of Georgia where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, a member of the Grady County Historical Society, Friends of the Library, past member and officer of the Cairo Woman’s Club and Cairo Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters, Lola T. Brock of Cairo, Margaret Tyson of Cairo; son-in-law, Emmett Brock of Cairo; grandchildren, Stacy Brock Stepler of Houston, Texas and Alison Brock of Virginia Beach, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Howard LeGette, Jim LeGette, John LeGette, Tom LeGette; and a sister, Madge L. Chastain.
