Services for Lennie McBride Washington, Cairo, are at 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002 at Bethlehem AME Church with the Rev. Lenford Johnston officiating and the Rev. W.F. Griffin pastor. Interment is in Crestview Cemetery. Active pallbearers are her grandsons. Mrs. Washington died Aug. 20 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born in Grady County, she was the daughter of Herbert and Vera McBride. She was married to Henry Washington, who preceded her in death, member of Bethlehem AME Church and attended Grady County public schools. Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Willie) Hill of Thomasville; a son, Dr. H. Lee (Carol) Washington of Cairo; a daughter, Deloris (Joseph) McCree of Cairo; a son, Lewis Washington of Morgan; daughters, Linda Jones of Cairo, Pricilla (Kenny) Smalls of Savannah; a son, Michael (Berna) Washington of Cairo; daughters, Lisa (Tony) Atkins of Cairo, Angela (Melvin) Hopkins of Whigham; a stepson, Elmer (Liz) Washington of Flint, Mich.; a brother, Joe McBride; sisters, Lula Waddel of Los Angeles, Calif., Jeanette (Joe) Willis of Cairo; a devoted and loving friend, Jonnie Lee Walker of Cairo; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. — Weston’s Funeral Home
