Cross Creek recognized as YES school
The Cross Creek Elementary K-Kids Club was recently awarded for its work in leading the school as a Youth Environmental Stewardship (YES) school by Keep Thomas County Beautiful.
The K-Kids Club distributed a pledge and received acceptance from the majority of Cross Creek students and staff to keep their community and Earth cleaner.
Through efforts of recycling (paper and plastic bottle caps), the Litter Getters group of the K-Kids Club, and each student doing his or her part, Cross Creek and the Earth are cleaner places.
K-Kids are led by faculty advisors Leslie Aracri and Lanie West.
Dr. Lisa Williams, Thomas County Schools Superintendent, presented the K-Kids Club with the award, and Keep Thomas County Beautiful added another decal to the Cross Creek YES banner to commemorate Cross Creek’s third year as a YES champion.
