THOMASVILLE- Several Thomas County Middle School band students recently competed in the second round of auditions for the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Middle School All-State Band, achieving remarkable success. Among thousands of students from across the state, TCMS had more students selected for this prestigious honor than any other middle school south of Macon. In an unprecedented achievement, two TCMS students earned first chair positions in their respective sections.
The following students were selected for the 2025 GMEA Middle School All-State Band:
- Evelyn Wright-Barwick – First Chair Bassoon
- Madelyn Weeks – First Chair French Horn
- Davis Amaro – Fourth Chair French Horn
- Cooper Weiss – Tuba Alternate
These talented musicians will participate in the GMEA All-State Band Clinic at The Classic Center in Athens, Georgia, from February 27 to March 1, 2025. The event will conclude with a special concert performance on Saturday, March 1.
