Death ruling

The February death of the estranged wife of a Thomasville podiatrist has been ruled a homicide.

Results of an investigation by the Leon County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office and medical examiner led to the conclusion Samira Frasch was a victim of homicide, said Lt. Tony Drzewiecki, sheriff’s office spokesman.

The homicide victim’s estranged husband, Dr. Adam Frasch, has a medical office — South Georgia Family Foot Institute — at 510 Gordon Ave. in Thomasville. Frasch also has a Thomasville residence.

Ms. Frasch’s body was found Saturday, Feb. 22, at the bottom of a pool at the couple’s Tallahassee, Fla., residence, where she was living with the couple’s two children. Ms. Frasch was awarded use of the residence and temporary custody of the children, ages one and two, in divorce proceedings.

Frasch was arrested later that day at his Panama City Beach, Fla., residence. The children, who were with him, are with relatives.

Frasch was charged with interference with custody and eventually released on his own recognizance.

During a search of Frasch’s Thomasville office last week in connection with possible Medicare and Medicaid fraud, firearms were found. Possession of the firearms violated conditions of Frasch’s release, and he was arrested. He is being held in the Leon County Jail on the interference with custody charge.

Information confirming homicide as the cause of Ms. Frasch’s death was received Wednesday.

“We have not made any arrests in this case,” Drzewiecki told the Times-Enterprise, adding that the sheriff’s office has no timeline on an arrest.

When asked if there is a suspect in the case, Drzewiecki said no one has been named a suspect, “but we’re not ruling anybody out as a suspect.”

Drzewiecki declined to say how Frasch died. To do so would compromise future aspects of the investigation, he said.
