THOMASVILLE- Thomasville Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Jonathan Conner recognized three individuals during Monday night’s City Council meeting with the Citizens Lifesaving Award, the highest honor a citizen can receive from TFR.
On January 4, 2025, Thomasville Fire Rescue responded to the 100th block of Remington Ave. for an ongoing structure fire.
“Upon arrival, fire personnel observed flames burning through the roof,” Conner said. “Unknown to Thomasville Fire Rescue, three extraordinary people made a selfless decision to enter the building and alert those inside.”
After briefly searching for the good samaritans, TFR identified Quention Rauls, Chris Taylor, and David Wilson as the three heroic individuals.
“To thank them, Thomasville Fire Rescue would like to present them with the Citizens Lifesaving Award,” Conner said. “This is the highest award Thomasville Fire Rescue can give to a citizen.”
The award reads: “In recognition of your selfless and courageous act of rendering aid in a sudden and unexpected situation, which resulted in the preservation of life on January 4, 2025. We commend you for your valiant efforts and service before self.”
Rauls, Taylor, and Wilson were all presented with a plaque, as those in attendance gave a standing round of applause for their heroism.
