Narcotics investigation yields drugs, guns, money, wanted persons, and a Federal Fugitive

WHIGHAM- The Grady County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, in conjunction with the GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office arrested four individuals on Friday, October 25, 2024, following a two-month-long investigation into the sales of narcotics from a residence.
According to reports, at approximately 8 a.m. on Friday, GBI agents, GCSO Drug Agents, and GCSO Investigators and Patrol Deputies served a search warrant at a residence on the 1400 block of Old 179 South.
Investigators and GBI Agents secured the residence and called for a Thomasville Police Department Canine unit and handler to assist in the search.
TPD Officer Haley Groover and Canine Koti arrived to assist in the search.
After Koti and Groover completed a search for narcotics, GBI investigators completed a secondary search, locating firearms and money.
While searching, agents and investigators seized four guns, including a sawed-off rifle, two pistols, and one AR-15 pistol; 164 grams of flakka, 5 Alprazolam pills; 40.7 grams of ecstasy; 45.2 grams of marijuana; a bulk quantity of spice; and $7,377 in US currency.
During the search, agents also secured all of the occupants of the residence, including the primary suspect, Senior Ramone Gordon, 39, also known as “MEATBALL.”
Gordon was arrested immediately on outstanding warrants for a felony probation violation, a misdemeanor warrant for terroristic threats, and a bench warrant out of Florida for trafficking Fentanyl. He was additionally charged with trafficking a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of a Schedule IV substance, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of trafficking MDMA.
They also ran the names of the other occupants of the residency, including Deja James and Danisha Chandler. It was discovered Chandler, 30, of Fort Gaines, was wanted on outstanding warrants out of Clay County for a probation violation and Chatham County on a bench warrant for traffic violations.
James was charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, while Chandler was booked on her outstanding Georgia warrants.
Gordon and Chandler, along with a male subject, were transported to the Grady County Detention Center.
During the interviews, the male subject admitted he had provided officers with a false name, and his real name was Maurice Bowers, 37, of Tallahassee. Bowers admitted he was out on Federal Probation for previous charges of Possession with intent to distribute Cocaine and firearms charges and was currently a federal fugitive.
Bowers now faces charges of trafficking a Schedule I controlled substance, along with his outstanding Federal warrants.
GCSO Sheriff Harry Young was proud of the teamwork, resulting in numerous drugs off the streets.
“I would like to thank the agents of the GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Office for their hard work on the case, the Thomasville Police Department for the assistance of Sgt. Groover, and Canine Koti, for their assistance in helping keep Grady County drug-free,” he said in a release. “We are dedicated to stopping the influx of drugs into our community and to continuing to take drugs and guns off the streets. It is only through cooperation with other agencies, the public and private programs that we can make positive changes in our community.”
