CAIRO — The victim in a fatal shooting last Sunday has been identified as Jordan Logan Bennett.

Bennett, 29, was shot multiple times by his brother, William Cole Bennett, following an altercation on Sunday, Dec. 22, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The incident occurred on the 1200 block of Calvary Road.

According to the GBI, the two men were involved in an argument that escalated when Cole Bennett, 22, brandished a firearm. GBI is not releasing information regarding the argument due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

No charges have been filed at this time, and the results of an autopsy that took place last Monday are still pending.

A GBI spokesperson said the case will be discussed with the district attorney’s office once the autopsy and other lab reports are completed.
