CAIRO — The Grady County Board of Commissioners approved a handful of expenditures and a resolution amending commissioners’ salaries at a Tuesday meeting.

The board unanimously approved a resolution to change the commissioners’ salaries — the first change since 1939.

A $3,500 cost toward new carpet for the Grady County mental health building was the first of numerous expenditures approved.

The expenditure is half of a $7,000 estimate, with the other half coming from the mental health building, located on North Broad Street.

Christine Mayer, day services coordinator for Georgia Pines, presented the request to the board.
