Homecoming

Pastor Charles “Buddy” Whatley and the congregation of Bold Springs United Methodist Church of Grady County will conduct the church’s annual homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 6. The service begins at 11 a.m., with Kesha Parish, of Bainbridge, bringing special music during the service. A covered dish lunch follows the service. 

 

Youth Day

Second Presbyterian Church’s youth day program will be held Sunday, September 29, at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Jennifer Green, social work program chair at Southern Regional Technical College. Everyone is invited. Henry Walden Sr. is the pastor.

 

Missionary Founders Day

The annual Missionary Founders Day and quarterly Daughters of Ruth worship service are at 10 a.m. Sunday at The St. Luke Church, 305 Chatham Drive. The guest speaker is Tynisha Haynes.

 

Food distribution

Centennial Missionary Baptist Church will distribute food boxes Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. and until supplies are exhausted. Distribution is at the church, 1884 Centennial Road.

 

Church union

The Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church Union is at Friends Missionary Baptist Church, 1446 S. Pinetree Blvd. The session begins at 9:45 a.m. Saturday. At 10:30 a.m., the Youth Department will perform, followed by the Women Mission with speaker Sister Shontavia Johnson of Friendship. At noon, Deacon Frank Delaney will conduct a workshop, followed by a sermon by the Rev. Charles Moore from Paradise Missionary Baptist Church. Sunday events begin at 9:45 a.m. with Sunday School, followed by a missionary sermon to be delivered by the Rev. Ronald Wiggins of New Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

 

Hat program

St. Thomas A.M.E. Church will conduct a hat program at 10 a.m. Sunday. The theme is “A Day of Hats … Are You Ready to Serve God?” The program includes various speakers.

 

Fellowship service

A Deacons, Deaconesses and Mothers Fellowship Service is at Saco Missionary Baptist Church, 1629 Saco Church Road, Pelham, at 6 p.m. Saturday. The theme is “Serving the Lord in Unity and Love.” The guest speaker is the Rev. McKebia Bray, pastor of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church in Albany.

 

Church anniversary

The second annual Church Anniversary Celebration is at Greater Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 115 Forrest St., Tuesday, Oct. 8, through Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 each night. The event continues at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The theme is “Growing Closer to God and Moving by the Power of God.”

 

Faith Temple

Faith Temple Church, 231 Legion Blvd., Cairo, will conduct Family and Friends Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. On Sunday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m., the church will celebrate Pastor Ambers Glenn Jr. with an appreciation service. Special guests will be Pastor Steffanie Goins and the New Vision Ministry Church family of Thomasville.

 

Fifth Sunday service

Restoration Tabernacle Ministries, 1002 N. Broad St., will host its regular Fifth Sunday Family and Friends/Rainbow Tea Service. Those attending are asked to wear any color in the rainbow. The speaker will be Bishop Joe Frank Burns of New Genesis Christin Center in Thomasville.

 

Annual revival

(with mug)

Annual revival services will be conducted at First Unity Missionary Baptist Church Monday, Sept. 30, through Friday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 each night. The guest minister will be the Rev. Dr. Eddie L. Jones, pastor of First Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta. Churches on  the program are:

• Monday — Mercy Seat Christian Church

• Tuesday — New Mount Missionary Baptist Church

• Wednesday — Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church

• Thursday — Centenary Baptist Church

• Friday — First Unity Missionary Baptist Church

The church will celebrate Youth Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Tony Bowdry will be the speaker.

 

Fifth Sunday fellowship

Fifth Sunday fellowship and a fashion extravaganza are at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Kingdom Ambassadors Ministry, 505 E. Walcott. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed men and to women wearing hats and heels.
