ATLANTA (AP) — A woman convicted of lying during an investigation into her husband’s shooting death outside a suburban Atlanta preschool is seeking a new trial.

Attorneys for Andrea Sneiderman filed a motion for a new trial Thursday. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://on-ajc.com/1ySTb4g ) the request comes as lawyers for the man convicted of killing her husband seeks a retrial.

Sneiderman was released from prison in June after her August 2013 conviction for perjury. Sentenced as a first-time offender, her felony convictions will be expunged when her parole ends in August 2017.

Sneiderman’s lawyer, Brian Steel, said in court filings his client’s alleged false testimony in the trial of Hemy Neuman was not material to her former supervisor’s conviction. Neuman was found guilty but mentally ill in the fatal shooting Rusty Sneiderman.
