THOMASVILLE- Brookwood School’s eighth grade students traveled to Washington, D.C., for their highly anticipated annual trip.

A longstanding tradition at Brookwood, the trip provides students with a firsthand look at the nation’s capital, reinforcing their studies with real world connections. During their time in D.C., students explored significant landmarks, engaged in discussions about American history and democracy, and gained a deeper appreciation for the country’s heritage.

“Going to and engaging with the people and places where history was and is being made fits with our core mission,” said Middle School Director Jon Mizell. “We are a community building leaders and this trip is an inspirational opportunity for our young leaders.”

“The trip is also a formative experience in building and strengthening their sense of community with each other and in the broader context of the community of the United States of America,” he said.

Beyond the educational value, the trip fosters independence, camaraderie, and personal growth as students navigate new environments and experiences together. The memories and lessons from Washington, D.C. will continue shaping their perspectives as future leaders.
