TEF announces leadership team for 82nd season

Thomasville Entertainment Foundation kicked off its 82nd season with a new slate of officers and trustees to lead the concert-presenter organization.

Charlotte Brown continues her service as TEF president, working with vice presidents Barbara Lee (Education), Ann Larson (Box Office), Adam Carvin (Production), Melissa McMillan (Hospitality) and Karl Barton (Marketing). Linda Tarver serves as secretary and Rita Amisson as treasurer.

Executive Committee members at-large are Sherrie Callaway, Katie Chastain and Andre’ Marria.

Executive and Artistic Director Rick Ivey focuses on developing and implementing the organization’s artistic vision and bringing world-class artists and performers to Thomasville, and Director of Administration Joan Sowell continues her work overseeing day-to-day operations of TEF.

Thomasville Entertainment Foundation’s all-volunteer board comprises trustees elected to serve three-year terms. Newly elected trustees for the Class of 2022 are Rita Amisson, Charlotte Arnold, Karl Barton, Barbara Clinebell, Pat Pankey, Laura Pike and Linda Wann. Trustees re-elected for a second consecutive three-year term for the Class of 2022 are Adam Carvin, Linda Hester, Andre’ Marria, Ann Scheib and Sue White.

Trustees newly elected to fill unexpired terms within the Class of 2021 are Robert Anderson and Jean Sprague.

Trustees rotating off or retiring from the board included Rick Carlson, Martha Hanway, Melanee Hill, Sterling Ivey, Lynn McCabe, Janet Noyes, Frances Parker, Marilynn Rhea and Mary Sipple.

Final preparations are under way for TEF’s upcoming 82nd season of performances, with the sold-out season opener by Broadway headliner Sutton Foster on September 26, followed by a return engagement of the acclaimed Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio on October 22.

The renowned Ailey II company of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre performs for TEF February 1, 2020, with the classical Bel Canto Trio set for February 13. Classically trained pianist Aaron Diehl brings his lively jazz trio on March 10, and the season concludes with the Boston-based string orchestra, A Far Cry, on March 24.

Established in 1937, Thomasville Entertainment Foundation is a volunteer-powered, non-profit organization celebrating more than 80 years of entertaining the community. In addition to presenting concerts by acclaimed artists, TEF offers a dedicated family series of performances geared to families and younger children, provides educational outreach programs for students and awards performing arts scholarships and grants to promising young artists.
