Rotary Club honors tech students of the month

The Rotary Club of Thomasville has presented Technology Student of the Month honors to Tyrell Jackson of Thomasville High School and Emily Curry of Thomas County Central High School.

Jackson was singled out for his outstanding achievement in the Business Pathway, his exploration of the Agriculture Pathway and his involvement in work-based learning. He received his school’s economics, geometry and advanced literature awards. He played football in his sophomore and junior years and works at Whataburger.

Her school nominated Curry for her exceptional academic achievement, her involvement in the community and because she’s a hardworking, disciplined and motivated student. She had the highest average in economics, received the UGA Certificate of Merit and participated in the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program. She plays varsity volleyball and soccer and is involved with the Thomasville Police Department Explorers.
