Archbold Memorial Hospital earns ACR accreditation

Archbold Memorial Hospital was recently awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

The ACR, a national organization with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology, as well as the delivery of comprehensive health care services, awarded Archbold the ACR gold seal of accreditation. The designation certifies that after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical experts, Archbold represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety, and is operating in accordance with the ACR’S practice guidelines and technical standards.

“MRI is a noninvasive medical test that utilizes magnetic fields to produce images of internal body parts to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions,” said Archbold radiologist Cary Newman, MD. “During an extensive survey of Archbold’s MRI department, qualifications of personnel, quality control measures, safety policies and image quality specific to MRI were reviewed. This accreditation shows how dedicated our radiologists and radiology staff are to ensuring we provide safe, high quality imaging care for our patients every time.”
