Petco invests in local Humane Society’s work
THOMASVILLE — Petco Love made a $15,000 grant investment to support the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society’s life-saving work for animals locally and in Southwest Georgia.
“Today Petco Love announces an investment in the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society and hundreds of other organizations as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, Petco Love president. “Our local investments are only one component. This month, we will also launch the first of our national tools to empower all animal lovers to drive life-saving change right alongside us.”
“Our shelter is helping more animals by providing a wider variety of services and programs than ever before. Just in the last six months, we have placed more than 670 animals into loving, forever homes. We are implementing best practices in all areas of our shelter operation, and this financial award from Petco Love will help us greatly in our life-saving efforts,” said Chandler Giddes, Humane Society executive director.
The Humane Society is a nonprofit organization that provides animal welfare services to abandoned, homeless, lost and abused pets in Thomas County and elsewhere in Southwest Georgia.
“We provide animal control services to Thomas County and its seven municipalities,” Giddes said. “Since 1970, Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society has helped save the lives of tens of thousands of animals through adoption and rescue.”
