CAIRO — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into an early morning weekend shooting that turned fatal after the victim died of his wounds.

Pascal Lorenzo Reddick, 35, currently faces charges of aggravated assault for his role in the incident.

Authorities say Reddick used a firearm to shoot 39-year-old Antavius Demetrius Robinson outside Reddick’s residence. Robinson died of his wounds shortly thereafter.

An incident report did not state what type of firearm was used in the shooting, though it does say the weapon was not an automatic.

Reddick was later located unarmed about three hours after the shooting and was taken into custody. He remains behind bars at the Grady County Jail.

Deputies responded to a call early Saturday morning of a man who had been shot at a residence on the 800 block of Pierce Chapel Road. When they arrived, they found Robinson laying on his back on the ground apparently experiencing internal injuries with “no pulse and eyes fixed,” the incident report states.

Authorities roped off the area and began collecting evidence and taking photographs of the crime scene.

County coroner Rusty Powe said he was unsure how many times Robinson was shot, a question he hopes can be answered following an autopsy sometime this week. Details as to where Robinson was struck on his body could not be shared due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Authorities are unsure of the nature of Reddick’s relationship to Robinson.

The incident occurred just after 3 a.m. Saturday.
