AgGeorgia announces election of new board chairman

PERRY — AgGeorgia Farm Credit is pleased to announce the election of a new board chairman, Guy A. Daughtrey of Cook County.

Daughtrey was most recently the vice chairman of AgGeorgia’s Board of Directors, having completed two consecutive terms, and has exhibited excellent leadership in his former role and in his service as a member and chairman of various committees of the board.

Daughtrey is a pine timber and pecan farmer, and is also an energy systems auditor for Southern Company. He holds an associate’s in accounting from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and a bachelor’s of business administration in business from Georgia Southwestern College.

Daughtrey has served on the board of directors since 2001, and also completed nine years on the board of directors of Wiregrass Technical College and served as treasurer for Lenox United Methodist Church.

He and his wife, Connie, reside in Lenox, and they have one son, Chase, and two grandchildren.
