51 marijuana plants found at McAlpin man’s home

McALPIN, Fla. — The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office discovered 51 marijuana plants in the home of a McAlpin man while serving an arrest warrant Thursday.

The report states the SCSO served an arrest warrant for Paul Kelly Shaw, 61, for trafficking hydrocodone as part of an ongoing investigation. According to the report, Shaw sold hydrocodone to a confidential source on May 11.

According to SCSO, when deputies made contact with Shaw at his residence Thursday, they detected a strong odor of live marijuana plants.

The report states SCSO obtained a search warrant and discovered 42 marijuana plants inside the home in multiple stages of maturity, with an additional nine plants outside the home.
