5 Star hosts December baseball clinic

TIFTON — Offseason work for area baseball players will come to town Dec. 8 when 5 Star Baseball hosts its sixth annual Holiday Clinic for hitting and fielding.

All aspects of hitting and fielding will be covered in the camp, which is set to have several accomplished instructors: Rashad Crawford, Denzell Gowdy, Josh Haynes and Matt Buhler.

Atlanta native Crawford is currently a centerfielder in the New York Yankees farm system. Gowdy played for Darton State and in the San Diego Padres chain. He is currently the Director of Operations at 5 Star. Haynes is the president and lead instructor at 5 Star, a former player for Darton and an association scout for the Los Angeles Angels. Buhler is 5 Star’s vice-president, as well as the hitting and pitching instructor.

The camp will be from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Dec. 8. The camp is $95 if registered by Dec. 1 and $110 afterwards.

To register, call Buhler at (229) 392-8970, Gowdy at (229) 206-1030 or Haynes at (229) 388-2269. 5 Star is located at 2785 Marshall Dr.
