Fletcher, Lady Bulldogs roll in weekend sweep
THOMASVILLE — Mallory Fletcher went 8-for-10 and drove in 12 runs to spark the Thomasville Lady Bulldogs softball team to three wins over the weekend.
Fletcher had two doubles and a home run as Thomasville beat Miller County 14-0 Friday, edged Brooks County 7-6 Saturday and then romped past Seminole County 10-1 to complete the weekend.
Ava Fletcher had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Jordan Williams went 7-for-9, collecting a triple and four RBIs, and Malorie Turnbull had two doubles while going 4-for-7. Makenna Gainous was 3-for-8 with two RBIs, and Myla Still had a double and drove in two runs.
Still struck out four in three hitless innings against Seminole County, and Matti McDougald tossed two scoreless innings of relief. Turnbull had four strikeouts and held Miller County to two hits in four innings. She struck out 10 in a complete-game win over Brooks County, allowing three earned runs.
