Rotary recognizes top academic students
Kaela Bellamy of Thomasville High School, Palmer NeSmith of Thomas County Central High School and Catharine Fennell from Brookwood School were honored by the Academic Students of the Month by the Rotary Club of Thomasville.
Bellamy received the recognition because of her academic excellence, extra-curricular activities and personal character and integrity. She is a member of the National Honor Society and participated in the HOBY Youth Leadership Conference and the world finals of Odyssey of the Mind. She is involved in Youth Assembly, varsity tennis and the school band.
Outstanding academic performance and extra-curricular involvement won the honor for NeSmith. She is an Odyssey of the Mind World Finalist and a Class of 2017 senator, and is on the Bainbridge State College Dean’s List. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, a varsity soccer team member and a TCCHS Dazzler.
Fennell was chosen for her academic excellence, her work ethic and the respect afforded her by faculty. She has been a Thomasville Times-Enterprise feature writer, the photography editor of her school’s yearbook and a member of the National Honor Society. She has been involved summer camp and community publications.
