THOMASVILLE — A Thomasville man faces numerous charges after fleeing from a state trooper and crashing in woods.

A little before 3 p.m. Friday, Thomasville Post 12 Georgia State Patrol Trooper Sgt. Steven Kornegay clocked a vehicle traveling 64 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone on Glenwood Drive and passing in a no-passing zone.

“He attempted to stop him for reckless driving,” said Post 12 Sgt. Dustin Rozier.

The 2003 Nissan Altima driven by Bradford Alexander Hill, a 33-year-old Thomasville resident, traveled onto Pinetree Boulevard, Robin Drive and Edgewood Circle until it struck a curb at Edgewood and Spair Street, traveled into woods and crashed into trees.

Rozier said Hill got out of the car through a window and fled. Kornegay ran down Hill on foot and captured him.

Hill complained about injuries and was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital.

When Hill was discharged, he was taken to jail, Rozier said.

The suspect is charged with reckless driving, seatbelt violation, violation of open container law, driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, passing on double yellow line, probation violation, failure to yield at stop sign, driving while license suspended/revoked, expired vehicle registration and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
