Prom Dress and Tuxedo Drive accepting donations

TIFTON — As prom season rolls around, Tift County High School is gearing up for its 12th annual Prom Dress and Tuxedo Drive.

Prom Night is April 21, so the cut off date for accepting dresses and tuxedos will be Friday, April 13 to allow time to get the formal wear dry cleaned if necessary.

Guidance counselor Octavia Faulk, who is heading up the drive, said that they are looking for new or gently used items, and that monetary donations or gift cards to help pay for hair or nails are appreciated.

Faulk said that tuxedos do not have to be complete to be donated, and that any dresses donated should meet the dress code requirements.

• Clothing must be worn with appropriate undergarments, and the undergarments must not be exposed.

• Clothing must not expose cleavage, midriffs or low back.

• Clothing must not have holes or tears exposing skin.

• Clothing must fit appropriately; excessively loose or tight clothing is not permitted.

• Clothing, body and hair should be clean.

Students in need of a dress or tux for prom should stop by the guidance office for assistance.

All items and donations may be delivered to the Tift County High School Guidance Office.

For more information contact Octavia Faulk at (229) 402-8808.
