TCC celebrates homecoming, with protocols

Thomas County Central High School held Homecoming Week 2020 Monday through Friday, Nov. 16-20. The annual event celebrates school spirit and provides students, faculty and staff opportunities to express their personalities via dress-up days. Each day has a different theme, chosen by the school’s student council, and this year’s prompts included: Twin Day, Tacky Tourist Day, Character or Superhero Day, Throwback/Decades Day and Blue & Gold Day.

To honor coronavirus social distancing, the school’s Audio-Video Technology and Film program created a pageant video that classes watched during News 4 You. Representatives from each grade took part: two per the freshman, sophomore and junior classes, and 10 from the senior class. Afterward, students voted for this year’s homecoming queen, announced during halftime of the Nov. 20 game against Dougherty.

TCCHS 2020 Homecoming Queen was Emily Potter, Imani Horne won Miss Yellow Jacket and De’Aisa Daniels earned Miss Spirit.
