Suwannee River Jam to feature seven fantastic main artists
LIVE OAK — Country music greats Toby Keith, LOCASH, Randy Houser, Billy Ray Cyrus, Craig Morgan, Joe Diffie and Maddie & Tae will be the spectacular main artists performing at the 29th Suwannee River Jam, the South’s Country Music and Camping Festival, the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park announced Wednesday.
The Jam is set for April 29-May 2. More artists will be announced at a later date.
These superb artists will be joined in entertaining SRJ guests by area and local winners of the Suwannee River Jam Auditions set for Feb. 15 at the Steinhatchee Fiddler Crab Festival from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and the bands only audition Feb. 21 in the Music Park’s Music Hall. Solo and duo country artists from all over are being selected at these events to go to the final audition. Finalists who will perform at the 2020 SRJ will be chosen at the final event in March. Bands who enter during auditions and win will go straight to the SRJ without further auditions. Artists already in the finals are Brandon Adams (St. Augustine), LeeAnn Purvis (Callahan), Brooke Spencer (St. Johns), Katie O (Jacksonville) and Cheyenne Graff (O’Brien). Wildcard winners hoping for a slot to perform are John Lee (New Hebron, Mississippi), Taylor Phillips (Palm Coast) and Payten Tison (Fleming Island).
Toby Keith, a dynamite country singer and stadium packer with his concerts, has millions of country music fans. Some of his greatest songs are “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” “Should Have Been a Cowboy,” “As Good as I Once Was,” “I Love This Bar,” “How Do You Like Me Now?” “Who’s That Man?” “I Wanna Talk About Me!” “American Soldier,” “Wish I Didn’t Know Now,” the all time favorite “Red Solo Cup” and so many, many more great country songs.
LOCASH is the duo all Jam fans know from their many years performing here at the Jam before they had a country hit that brought them into national fame. Chris Lucas and Preston Brust are proud of their music we all love such as “I Love This Life,” “I Know Somebody,” “Ring on Every Finger,” “Feels Like A Party,” “Brothers” and “One Big Country Song.” This is SRJ “family” coming home to visit folks.
Randy Houser will delight his Jam fans this year with some of his most popular songs such as “Like a Cowboy,” “Boots On,” “How Country Feels,” ”Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” “What Whiskey Does,” “We Went,” “Anything Goes,” “Evangaline,” “No Good Place to Cry” and “Addicted Lyrics” to name a few. His latest album is MAGNOLIA.
Billy Ray Cyrus’ name is a household word in the South. Cyrus has nearly three decades of singing for his fans! Among his greatest songs are “Old Town Road,” “Achy Breaky Heart” “It Could’ve Been Me,” “She’s Not Crying Anymore,” “Where’m I gonna Live When I Get Home?” and the one everyone knows the words to, “Some Gave All.”
Craig Morgan, a 17-year Army and Army Reserves vet, has made a name for himself for his country music icons, TV personality, outdoorsmanship and patriotism. Some of his top songs are “The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost,” “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” “Bonfire,” “ Redneck Yacht Club,” “Almost Home,” “This Aint Nothing,” “International Harvester,” “Wake Up Loving’ You” and many more.
Joe Diffie has had some great real country songs such as “Pickup Man,” “Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox,” “John Deere Green,” “It is Cold in Here,” “Bigger Than the Beatles,” “Ships That Don’t Come In,” “Honky Tonk Attitude,” “So Help Me Girl,” “If The Devil Danced (in empty pockets)” and so many more.
