City of Tifton holds Family Fun Day for its employees

TIFTON — The City of Tifton held a Family Fun Day for more than 300 employees at E.B. Hamilton Complex on June 15.

The event was planned and put on by the city to show appreciation for employees and as a way to encourage physical activity during the summer months.

Lunch consisted of hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage dogs, prepared by members of the Tifton Fire Department.

Attendees young and old participated in activities such as wiffle ball, cornhole and face painting. There was also a rock climbing wall and an inflatable water slide.

Last year the City of Tifton received an Employee Health and Wellbeing Incentive Grant from the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA). This grant’s purpose is to promote worksite programs designed to enhance the health and well-being of city employees and their family members, according to a press release from the city.

According the release, the city would like to recognize all those who donated, sponsored, or partnered with them for the event, including Anytime Fitness, 41 and Main, Curtis Packing Company, J&J Gym, J&J Inflatables, Mayfield Creamery, PC Solutions and Integration, Publix, Quality Employment, Roberts & Co Jewelry, SHI, Tift County Board of Commissioners and the Recreation Department, The Big Green Sign Company, The Local Kitchen & Bar, The Howard Center and the Tiftarea YMCA.
