Roach, Yancey promoted at Senior Life

Senior Life Insurance Company President Ron Powell has announced two promotions at the Thomasville home office. Thomas Roach was promoted to the position of director of marketing and Savannah Yancey is the newly-appointed chief claims analyst.

Roach joined the company in May 2008, and over the past nine years spearheaded the growth of the graphic design and marketing department. Roach provided needed support to the company while it grew from conducting business in 17 states to 39 states plus the District of Columbia.

Yancey was hired in May 2015 into accounting and then moved to claims as an analyst, and helped streamline operations.

Roach now directs all marketing efforts for Senior Life Insurance Company, including graphic design for direct mail advertising campaigns, agents, policyholder and home office needs. He also leads the marketing effort for agent recruitment and retention.

“It’s been an absolute blessing working for Senior Life Insurance Company,” said Roach. “I believe this company helped nurture me to grow as a leader, designer and marketer. I love coming to work every day and the people I work with are such a great team, together working towards exciting goals.”

When Roach first joined Senior Life Insurance Company, there were only 60 employees, and now more than 200 work at the home office, located at 1 Senior Life Lane.

Powell relied on Roach to keep up with the graphic design and marketing needs of the company during its very fast expansion.

“Thomas has always been there for the company, we appreciate his hard work and dedication to our overall development,” he explained.

A graduate of LaGrange College, Roach earned a bachelor of arts in graphic design. He also is a graduate of Thomas County Central High School. Before joining Senior Life Insurance Company, he worked with the Thomasville Times-Enterprise in layout and graphic design.

Roach’s commitment to Senior Life Insurance Company is reinforced daily.

“I am really excited to help market a company whose product is to give people peace of mind,” Roach said.

Yancey’s talent was noticed early on and she has become a proven asset to the company. Yancey began working in claims.

“I learned so much about myself. I learned to talk and listen with great empathy and compassion; these are the values that Senior Life instills in all of us, which is especially important when working with policyholders from the perspective of claims,” she said.

Like Roach, Yancey has watched the company grow quickly and she worked hard to help with the reorganization of the claims department to better serve their clients.

“Paying claims quickly and efficiently and with genuine concern for our policyholders and their families is our number one goal,” said Yancey.

“Savannah has achieved some very high goals and she did a great job, we couldn’t be more pleased,” Powell added.

Yancey is originally from Moultrie and attended the University of West Georgia, concentrating on business.

Previous to Senior Life Insurance Company, she worked as operations manager for a large local furniture company.
