Lowndes sweeps Thomasville

THOMASVILLE — Samuel Shoptaw got a layup with less than 30 seconds left, lifting the Lowndes Vikings to a 49-47 win over Thomasville on Wednesday.

The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 13-4.

Aaron Williams led the way with 14 points and DarMarcus Black added 12 points. Shoptaw scored 10 for the Vikings (12-2). 

Black’s baseline drive capped a 6-0 run for the Vikings, putting them ahead 47-43. 

Harris Jackson’s layup and Tyson Anderson’s two free throws after a steal tied the game at 47-47.

Amyah Español led the Lowndes girls with 19 points as the Lady Vikings posted a 58-41 win.

Thomasville visits Cook on Friday night and hosts Early County on Saturday night.
