Thomasville’s Perry decommits from Arkansas
THOMASVILLE — One of the best high school power forwards in the nation has reopened his recruitment.
Thomasville’s Reggie Perry decommitted from the University of Arkansas late Wednesday night due to a personal family issue. The Bulldogs’ rising senior was set to play for the Razorbacks after committing last August.
“Unfortunately, I had to decommit tonight with Coach [Mike Anderson] because of personal health issues with my father,” Perry said to Scout. “I have to do what is best for me and my family.”
Perry is a five-star recruit headed into his senior season and is a top ranked basketball prospect on different lists. He is ranked as the No. 17 high school player in the country by ESPN and as the No. 1 player in Georgia by 247 Sports.
With his recruitment reopened, Perry will certainly be a target for college coaches. Before his pledge to Arkansas, multiple schools had eyes on him, with offers coming from Georgia, Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama and Florida State.
He has been involved in different activities during the offseason, including the Adidas Euro Camp in Italy and most recently, the Adidas Nations Training Camp in Los Angeles.
During his junior year at Thomasville, Perry led the Bulldogs in almost every offensive category, averaging 21 points and 12.1 rebounds per game.
