John Lee of Nansemond Chapter celebrates Colonial heritage

American Colonial Heritage was honored by Colonial Dames XVII Century, John Lee of Nansemond Chapter in the community, a Thomasville school, and with the members.

At Roddenberry Public Library in Cairo is a display about the United States Constitution for the public to view. For the Thomas County community, a book was donated to the Thomas County Public Library. The book, “The Words That Made Us,” by Akhil Reed Amar, was given in honor of Jinanne Parrish, past president of the chapter. The book is a history of the creation of the Constitution. Members at our September chapter meeting received copies of the United States Constitution and United States flags.

Colonial Dames  17th Century,  John Lee of Nansemond Chapter, donated two books to Jerger Elementary School recently in honor of Colonial Heritage Month. Sheila Tucker, on behalf of the chapter, presented the books to the Media Specialist at the school. The books were “What is the Declaration of Independence?”  by Michael C. Harris, and “What is the Constitution?” by Patricia B. Demuth.
