Around Downtown: Businesses attract patrons to Maker’s Market

VALDOSTA — From gourds to homemade grits, dozens of vendors lined the sidewalks of Downtown Valdosta near the Historic Lowndes County Courthouse.

A Maker’s Market and Sidewalk Sale offered diverse products to community members. Saturday was the first installment of the Maker’s Market.

Vendors included Crafts by Margie, Schmoe Farm, KC’s Krafts, Mandolin Wings, GG’s Sugared Peppers, Melton Candle Company and Gayla’s Grits.

The Maker’s Market is an expansion of Farm Days, not focusing solely on farmers but also including artists, organizers said.

The Sidewalk Sale promoted area businesses as they worked to sell merchandise.

The market will be held every second Saturday each month.
