Haunted Theatre opens Oct. 25

TIFTON — It is well known that renovations can sometimes stir up ghosts in old buildings, particularly those with a long history.

The Tift Theatre, which recently underwent renovations, is no exception.

At least that is the story behind this year’s Haunted Theatre, which opens to the public Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.

Theater Director Kaylee Stokes said that the participants were inspired by what has been going on at the theatre and wanted to use the recent renovations as a jumping off point for the Haunted Theatre.

The theatre, which is already home to at least one spirit, has become the home of… something else. What that something else is will be for the brave to discover.

“We’re relying on the dark and the human element for the Haunted Theatre this year,” Stokes said. “We wanted to name the haunted house “Closed for Renovations,” but we didn’t want people to think that the theatre was actually closed for renovations.”

The dates and times for the Haunted Theatre are Oct. 25-27 beginning at 7:30 p.m. and Oct 29-31 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $7.
