Espresso 41 hosting local art show

TIFTON — Espresso 41, fresh from its first year anniversary, is planning an art show.

Set for Feb. 17, the show is open to local artists of all types: painters, photographers, candlemakers, jewelry artists, potters and arts and crafts makers, among others.

“We want to show the importance of local art and supporting local artists,” said Justin Golden, owner of Espresso 41. “We can all buy a coffee mug from a store, but buying one that someone’s made uniquely on their own is cool. That’s what I like, handmade things, handmade art.”

This is the latest in a series of local art shows Espresso 41 has hosted.

“Our whole idea was to invest in Tifton, to create a culture that appreciates art, that appreciates hand made art,” said Golden. “We’re investing in Tifton, like when we opened our coffee shop here.”

“I’d like for it grow to where it becomes an all day event,” said Golden. “Each one we’re having, we’re having more and more people come to it.”

The show starts at 7 p.m. and goes to around 10 p.m.

Along with artists, a number of bands are lined up to play as well.

Artists can sign up by dropping by Espresso 41 or emailing info@espresso41.com.
