TEF names officers and trustees
Thomasville Entertainment Foundation introduced officers and trustees for the coming year, reflected on the just-completed season and announced group’s concert series for 2017-18 at its recent annual meeting.
President Frances Mims Parker takes the helm for the coming year, along with vice presidents Ann Larson, education; Charlotte Arnold, box office; Rick Ivey, marketing; Karl Barton, production; and Mary Kathryn Sibley, hospitality. Ann Scheib will serve as secretary; Rick Carlson continues as treasurer; and Janet Noyes, Pam Davis and Scott Sterling are members at large. Artistic Director Janice Faircloth and Director of Administration Joan Sowell round out the executive committee.
Trustees elected for a three-year term as the Class of 2020 include Charlotte Brown, Sherrie Callaway, John Hand, Barbara Lee, Mary Katherine Sibley, Carol Singletary, Scott Sterling and Pam Wright, while returning trustees elected to a second consecutive three-year term are Pam Davis, Jamie Jones, Sandi Shaw and Howard Woodard. Linda Hester was elected to complete an unexpired term.
TEF honored and thanked six trustees who were rotating off or retiring from the board, including Burt Courtney, Rebecca Faddell, Raymond Hughes, Susan O’Neal, Ken Rebman and Nancy McCollum.
Retiring President Ann McCrickard was inducted into the Order of Chantilly for her many contributions to TEF. The honor recognizes the exceptional leadership of the presidents of Thomasville Entertainment Foundation, and McCrickard joins a group of just 40 individuals who have led the non-profit over its 79-year history.
The annual meeting, held at Glen Arven Country Club, wasn’t all business, however.
Attendees were also treated to a performance by Emily Bateman, recipient of a 2016 TEF Scholarship that allowed her to continue her vocal studies at the Opera Viva! program in Verona, Italy, last summer. Accompanied by pianist Trey Cox, artistic director of Versa Musica Conservatory, Bateman performed several operatic works.
Karl Barton shared a video preview of TEF’s upcoming 2017-18 season, which includes concert performances by Chris Brubeck’s Triple Play; Chanticleer; Nathan Gunn; Gil Shaham with Akira Eguchi; Barry Douglas and Camerata Ireland; and Barrage 8.
Thomasville Entertainment Foundation is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization entering its 80th season.
