TIFTON — Ruth’s Cottage and the Patticake House is holding a candlelight vigil in downtown Tifton on Oct. 1.

The vigil, which starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park Amphitheater, is to remember victims of family violence, celebrate survivors and honor the people who dedicate themselves to the protection of those survivors.

Jan Christiansen, executive director for the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, will be the featured speaker.

Ruth’s Cottage and the Patticake House runs a women’s shelter and child advocacy center.
