THOMASVILLE — The Thomasville Bulldogs put a bow on their Region 1-AA baseball title with a sweep of Fitzgerald in the last regular season series.

The Bulldogs, whose series-opening win over the Hurricane secured the region title, took both ends of Friday’s doubleheader, 4-1 and 13-2.

Jacob Jordan and Ben Rawlings combined to strike out 14 Fitzgerald batters and limit them to three singles.

Gabe Duncan was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Jace Lowe added a double.

In the finale, Lowe homered and drove in four runs, going 2-for-3, and Witt Wetherington added a solo shot in a 2-for-2 effort.

The Bulldogs had six extra-base hits. Carson Fryman was 3-for-3 with a double, Anderson Everett was 3-for-4 with a triple, Jadon Lirette added a triple and two RBIs and Gus Novak had a double.

Ryan Renfroe went 2-for-3, and the Bulldogs racked up 16 hits.

Everett went the first four innings on the mound, allowing just two hits and striking out seven.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season at 21-4.
