Industry relocates here with 50 jobs

THOMASVILLE — A trailer manufacturer is scheduled to open in August after relocating from Bainbridge.

GPS Trailers, manufacturer of utility trailers, purchased the former Alltech building at 350 Davenport Drive, said Shelley Zorn, Thomasville Payroll Development Authority (PDA) executive director.

“They have outgrown their building in Bainbridge,” Zorn said.

GPS Trailers partners are Shane Buckner, a Pelham resident, and other partners are from Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Zorn said the company is investing $2.4 million in the building and related improvements. An additional investment will be made in equipment, she said.

The company will provide 50 jobs, Zorn added.

The PDA unanimously approved a company request for a 10-year graduated property tax abatement.

Zorn said GPS Trailers manufacturers small trailers used to transport small lawn care equipment, among other uses.
