TPD searching for suspect in reported armed robbery

THOMASVILLE — Thomasville police are searching for a suspect in a reported midday armed robbery.

According to the TPD, a white male carrying a TJ Maxx bag robbed the Kay Jewelers at the Gateway Shopping Center at around 11:30 a.m.

The suspect is described as a tall and skinny with dark clothing and wearing a long coat, possibly a trench coat, said Lt. Toby Knifer, Thomasville Police criminal investigations division commander.

The subject was last seen walking toward Remington Avenue from the Gateway Shopping Center.

The TPD is asking that anyone who may have seen the suspect matching this description to call (229) 227-3302 or call the non-emergency dispatch number at (229) 226-2101.
