Lady Seminoles rally to beat Lady Bulldogs

The Florida State Lady Seminoles came into the Lady Bulldogs’ den and beat them in a close 55-51 victory.

Coming into the game, the Lady Seminoles and the Lady Bulldogs were evenly matched.

The Lady Bulldogs guard, Laila Harvey, set the tone for her team early on. Harvey made her first couple of attempts from beyond the arc.

On the other hand, the Lady Seminoles’ Chrishawndria Faust had her way on the boards against the Lady Bulldogs. Faust was getting anything and everything she wanted in the paint.

The Lady Bulldogs had a 13-10 lead closing the first quarter.

The Lady Seminoles came out in the second quarter and gave it to the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Seminoles kept dominating the Lady Bulldogs on the glass. The Lady Seminoles got second and third-chance points.

Thomasville needed to find a gear offensively, and they had to find a way to contain Florida State on the boards.

The Lady Seminoles’ defense created opportunities for their offense.

Midway through the second quarter, the Lady Bulldogs had only scored 4 points. Thomasville kept missing shots, and the Seminoles made easy points that put the Lady Bulldogs into a deeper hole to climb themselves out.

Late in the second quarter, the Lady Bulldogs got on a run and closed the quarter with some momentum to build on going into halftime. The Lady Seminoles had a 26-21 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, Florida State’s guard Laniyah Gennie made a three to start the third quarter.

Faust was having her way still, and the Lady Bulldogs had no answer for her.

Dallas Hill made a much-needed three to stop the bleeding for the Lady Bulldogs.

Thomasville decided to go to a full-court press and hopefully force the Lady Seminoles to make some turnovers. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t happen because Faust went off in the third quarter. She put her team on her back and made her presence felt, because she got to the rim at will.

The Lady Bulldogs’ ability to make three-pointers kept them in the game. Dallas Hill made a few clutch threes for her team, and Misprecious Thomas made some key shots to bring the game within 6 points to close the third quarter.

The Lady Seminoles had a 44-38 lead. The game was coming down to a fourth-quarter thriller between both teams.

The Lady Bulldogs started the fourth quarter with a basket from Laila Harvey putting the game within four points for Thomasville. Moments later, Rakiyah Mcqueen made a three to put that game within one point.

The Lady Seminoles responded with a score to go back up three points. Harvey came back down and made a dagger to tie the game up.

Faust scored another clutch shot in the paint, and Gennie scored back-to-back points to put Florida State back up five.

Both teams went back and forth in the final two minutes of the game. Faust scored another clutch spot to give her team a 53-49 lead.

Lady Bulldogs Rhaniya Wilson made a shot to make the game 53-51.

In the last minute of the game, the Lady Bulldogs had three consecutive opportunities to the lead, and the Lady Bulldogs had four crucial turnovers.

With seconds left in the game, Faust was fouled and went to the free throw line and made two clutch free throws to make the score 55-51.

The Lady Seminoles won the game 55-51.
