No Place Like Home display at Artport gallery

The Council on Culture & Arts is presenting No Place Like Home: Paintings by Randy and Debra Brienen display at the Artport Gallery from Jan. 16 -April 1, in Tallahassee, Florida. Local painters Randy and Debra Brienen have a passion for celebrating the panhandle’s hidden gems and our region provides plenty of inspiration.

From the salt marshes and coastal scenes to rural settings and historic sites, the Big Bend’s charm is the focus of this exhibition.

The Brienens have been painting professionally since 2008 and in that time this husband and wife have developed a recognizable style and a dedicated following.

They are prolific and prefer acrylics due to the speed with which they can produce work.

More than two dozen paintings are on display ranging from images of familiar spots like Bradley’s Country Store and the Goodwood Museum, as well as numerous out of the way places unique to our area. With a reputation for capturing fleeting moments, the Brienens show us the beauty of our own backyard.

This is one of many rotating exhibitions curated by the Council on Culture & Arts on behalf of the City of Tallahassee as part of the Art in Public Places program. The Artport Gallery itself is located in the Tallahassee International Airport, 3300 Capital Circle SW, and is open daily from 8 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.
